Hanover Press welcomes proposals for original monographs, edited volumes, and Baptist reprint editions from scholars with terminal degrees.

How to Submit

Download our proposal form, complete all sections, and email it along with your CV and a sample chapter to contact@hanoverpress.com. Use “Book Proposal – [Your Name]” as your subject line.

We review all proposals that meet our eligibility criteria and aim to respond within 6–8 weeks of receipt.

Eligible Authors
Terminal degree required — PhD, ThD, or DPhil from an accredited institution
Project Types
Original monographs, edited volumes, and Baptist reprint editions
Response Timeline
Initial acknowledgment within two weeks; full decision within 6–8 weeks

What Happens Next
The Review Process
01
Initial Review
The editorial team reads your proposal and checks it against our publishing criteria. You will receive an acknowledgment within two weeks.

Board Referral
Proposals that pass initial review are sent to the full editorial board for consideration, including external reader reports where appropriate.
03
Decision
The board issues a formal decision—acceptance, revision request, or decline—along with written feedback within 6–8 weeks of submission.
04
Production
Accepted projects move into contract negotiation and the Hanover Press production pipeline, with a typical timeline of 12–18 months to publication.
