The Hanover Review invites essay submissions for its next issue. We welcome original scholarship in theology, church history, biblical studies, and philosophy of religion from scholars at any career stage.
The Hanover Review is a peer-reviewed academic journal published by Hanover Press. It is dedicated to advancing rigorous theological and historical scholarship with an ecclesial orientation — scholarship that is academically serious and churchly in concern.
The journal publishes original essays, critical responses, and review articles in theology, church history, biblical studies, and philosophy of religion. We are especially interested in work that engages the Protestant and Baptist traditions, though we welcome contributions from across the broader Christian scholarly community.
The Hanover Review practices double-blind peer review. All submissions are evaluated on scholarly merit, clarity of argument, and contribution to the field.
The theme for the next issue of The Hanover Review is currently being finalized and will be announced shortly. In the meantime, we welcome general submissions that fall within the journal’s scope. Essays submitted before the theme announcement will be considered alongside themed submissions. Check back here or follow Hanover Press for the theme announcement.
